Shaun M. needed a pressure wash before signing off on putting his house on the market. He was particularly worried that he would need the lowest pressure possible for a wash of the deck so as not to strip the paint. He took the opportunity during the walkthrough around the house before the wash to make sure his concerns were heard. The crew took those instructions to heart, the area came out spotless without any damage to the paint. It was a big selling point for the house. All in all, he was appreciative of how everything was able to come together on such short notice. It allowed the home to look its best right in time to find a buyer. Shaun sold his house and even the new owners love the deck!
After purchase of her home, Stephanie O. wanted the entire house freshly painted, 2 floors, 2700 sq feet, including all trim and doors. She also needed the basement walls and floor painted with an epoxy. This needed to be done quickly so that her family could get moved in (she was hoping to put off moving in until the work was completed). During the quote process, Stephanie was impressed with the detail that Mark had used throughout the house. He asked a lot of questions about the expectations she had, and what she wanted done. Stephanie felt confident putting the job in Mark and his crew's hands. They clearly outlined the cost of labor and the amount of paint estimated. MDF was able to get very high quality paint at a great price. One week after the proposal, she had the standard pre-work meeting in which Mark, and the job supervisor went through everything. Not only did they go through the details of the job, they brought samples of the paint colors Stephanie picked out and put them up on the wall. Mark made sure she was comfortable with the paint colors prior to purchasing all of the paint. The team then started immediately. They worked through the weekend and the main two floors were completed in 6 days. It took one additional day to lay the epoxy down on the basement floor. The quality of work was beyond what Stephanie could have hoped for. They were so meticulous with details, the crew even repaired all of the nail holes in the walls. They removed the existing wallpaper, without any evidence leftover. The trim was painted expertly and the paint on the walls were perfect, while the new carpet and floors were protected. Stephanie was able to move in to her brand new home, feeling overjoyed at the results.
During the spring Igor T. bought a beautiful property in Weston, CT. The home itself has a fascinating history - it is considered the most architecturally significant estate in Weston. It was designed by famous architect Roger Ferris (known for his work in The Hamptons) and was built in 2002. MDF was called to personalize this estate, providing a complete interior revitalization that included painting, drywall, and carpentry.
The carpentry work was extensive and included the custom building of various items. Cabinets, shelves, desks, a wardrobe, and the theatre on the third floor were all custom built by hand to the exact specifications of the owner. Wainscoting was added to walls throughout the home including every wall in the master bedroom. New drywall and joint compound were used to repair ceilings throughout the home, especially in the basement, kitchen, family room, library, foyer, mudroom, and office. Spot sanding, caulking, and primer followed all the repairs.
Igor chose Benjamin Moore matte and semi-gloss finishes for the paint. We added to the modern elegance of the home by keeping colors light and neutral. White trims and cabinets were paired with varying shades of light-smoke to charcoal gray, complemented by marble throughout the house. Fresh paint was also added to all the custom-built desks, cabinets, and theatre so they could blend seamlessly into the rest of the home. This project sprawled across the entire 13,000 square foot estate and took about 2 months to complete. It was all worth it as Igor and his family love their new dream home!
Sarah M. contacted MDF Painting for a full exterior paint project at her beautiful home in Cos Cob, CT. The previous paint looked worse for wear and started to peel. The yellow color lost its luster, making the house look dated. Sarah was concerned that moisture damaged the area around her gutters.
MDF's painters started with pressure washing and sanding off the deteriorating paint. Moisture levels were measured on bare wood for the most accurate readings. Areas reading above 13% moisture content were replaced with new clapboards and 16 feet of fascia board under the gutters along with 8 feet of a new soffit. We used Shermax Premium Caulk to touch up the new boards and ensure no moisture comes in. We replaced the garage door trim, a section of eaves and a gable roof vent due to previous damage. Other carpentry included in this project was the 60% replacement of the pressure treated decking, with top handrail, posts, and bottom rails. After that, the bare wood patches were coated with an oil-based slow-drying primer. MDF insists on using this particular kind of primer on wood surfaces so our paint jobs last longer. All rusted nail heads were treated with an oil-based rust-inhibitive primer. We applied 1 coat of Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin to all the trim after repairs were completed. Finally, we applied 2 finish coats to the home to change the exterior color.
MDF Painting transformed this house from a dull yellow to a soft gray. Sarah's home looks as good as new and she is in absolute awe of her new exterior!
A long-term commercial client of MDF called for a painting maintenance update that tackled a bigger problem than fresh paint. Due to a fire, damaged walls needed repairing and soot removal before anyone could move in. Soot damage is not only an eyesore, but it also could affect your family's health.
Painters started this job by repairing the damage to the walls and ceiling. The removal of the soot can be a tricky process that requires proper ventilation. Soot may cause inflammation to the skin and lungs, so calling in a professional instead of attempting to do this yourself is a better option. Walls were wiped down with dry cloths that were treated with chemicals to begin the removal. Painters used a degreaser to prevent any future fires from burning in the same area. After this process was carefully administered, painting prep began. Sanding the walls helped remove the soot residue in addition to the previous treatments. A primer was applied to ensure the smoothest paint job possible. Two coats of paint guaranteed that the color would even and consistent. After the paint dried, this home was as good as new!
To give some history on this neighborhood, the building is part of the Greenwich Avenue historic district. The city of Greenwich is a commuter's dream for those who work in New York City, and this has always been the case. In the 19th century, the commercial buildings were all located along Greenwich Avenue for the residents to have easy access to them. Even as modern amenities became more common, such as electricity, railroads, sidewalks, and water lines, the buildings on the intersection of Greenwich Avenue and West Putnam Avenue have not changed their facades. Buildings on West Putnam Avenue have a Tudor Revival style. It was popular in the US between 1900 and 1940, recognizable through its use of half-timbering and diamond panes. These exteriors used decorative bricks or stucco, then layered wood strips in framing or striping pattern. Heavy and decorative doors were also popular during this period.
Noreen E.'s office is on the third floor of 6 West Putnam Ave. She called MDF Painting to update the office's interiors with blueprints as a guide. Repairs and paint were needed, as well as adding a paneled accent wall.
Repairs were made to the office's walls, halls, and ceiling using a combination of fiberglass tape, and plaster. After these repairs dried, our painters sanded them down. The tape for the accent wall went up. Based on the blueprint, 9 rectangles were measured out. Molding pieces were installed on the wall to create the panels. Noreen requested a full coverage paint job, so MDF's painters applied 2 coats of primer to start. Then the windows, doors, and baseboard trim were painted to match the existing paint color using Benjamin Moore Advance paint products. The walls changed from an eggshell white color to light gray after 2 coats of paint. Inside the panels were painted a similar but darker shade of gray to add contrast to the accent wall. Benjamin Moore Calcimine in a flat sheen was used for these areas because it would best adhere to a plaster surface.
Noreen's office looks exactly how she imagined after MDF Painting completed the work. The office's interior has a modern aesthetic while the exterior remains historic. It's the best of both worlds! MDF hopes this office will inspire Noreen for years to come. If you need some inspiration in your life or career, check out Noreen's life coaching business!
Pam C. of Westport called MDF Painting for a complete exterior overhaul after receiving our monthly newsletter. The project she had in mind included the exterior staining of her wood-paneled home, deck floor sanding, and carpentry.
Pam also requested that MDF hand-clean the gutters, and the moss growing on the garage roof. The pressure washing was completed one week in advance, and it covered the entire siding plus the porch and deck floors. The carpentry included in this project focused on the roofline, garage, and decks. The clapboard, fascia for the front and back, and the soffit return were all repaired. For the garage, three pieces of molding were replaced, the door jamb and the trim too. The column bases for the front porch pillars were causing concern, so both were repaired. The deck gate had a latch, a hinge, and a wheel added.
The painting portion of this exterior project included painting the siding and deck staining. Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin and Sherwin Williams Woodscapes were the best choices for this project. Pam's Westport home is now several shades lighter; the color she chose was a soft and creamy beige. She adored the results! MDF was thrilled to be a part of the process.
Paul F. called MDF Painting for carpentry repairs on the exterior of his Old Greenwich home. Instead of combining this with a full exterior paint job, he took advantage of the painter for the day program to address his painting touch-ups. This ability to customize the work performed at your home sets MDF Painting apart from other companies. A customer only pays for painting projects that include the items agreed to on the contract, no hidden fees.
The carpentry work proposed included most of the exterior plus the back patio. The left fascia trim piece and the gable peaks required replacement. The chimneypieces were also replaced with Azek building material. Over the garage, the fascia piece called for mending. The drip edges on three sides of the house were expertly repaired. The base trim of the house and porch, the corner trim, and the patio clapboard were restored as the carpentry team finished up. The base trim addition for the porch was the last task completed before moving on to painting. It was recommended to use composite material to avoid damage. Using wood in an area with high foot traffic, excessive sun, and moisture exposure could lead to deterioration.
When these carpentry fixes were out of the way, painters moved in to touch up the existing exterior color. The painting took about two days to cover all the new materials, but the results were seamless! Paul's lovely home was fixed and looking brand new.
Marie B. called MDF Painting because her previous paint job had started to peel. Her front door and trim, garage doors, Bilco door, wishing well, and shed were all looking worse for wear. The interiors also needed some TLC. A hole had appeared in the ceiling of the kitchen and dining room ceiling. In the bathroom, the walls around the radiator required repair.
Painters started this project with a full pressure washing of the home and the peeling areas. Sanding off the old paint and using an oil-based primer fixed the deteriorating paint problem. Maire requested that the back porch be re-caulked to prevent any future moisture issues. The exterior was painted in Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin after custom matching the exact shades of white for the siding, wishing well, and trims. The shed was a unique shade of dark teal that was also color matched.
From there, painters moved on to repair the interiors before re-painting. The hole was repaired with compound and prepped for new paint by sanding it down. The ceiling connected to the hallway, bathroom, and garage, paint covered the entire area. The tile work around the bathroom radiator was replaced, sanded, and then re-painted. Marie's home was sparkling after the repairs and new paint! She loved the results!
Chris B. needed his exterior repaired and re-painted. His window sashes were damaged and needed a carpenter's touch. He also expressed interest in changing the color of the exterior shingles.
MDF painter's picked up the samples he requested and painted them on the outside to give Chris a better idea of what the home's final painting product would be. Benjamin Moore Aura in colors Blue Nova, Caldwell Green, and Jack Pine were all painted directly onto the exterior shingles. He ended up picking Caldwell Green in a Flat sheen. From there, the carpentry team repaired and replaced the damaged window sashes as needed with Bondo body filler. The sanded down exterior had moisture levels measured before adding the paint. The trim was painted in Benjamin Moore's Winter Wheat to complement the new olive green shade.
Chris loved his new exterior colors after fresh paint!
Laurie P. contacted MDF Painting to update her interiors. She needed a change and requested to switch up the colors in each room. MDF Painting was confident they could handle the changes in hue and picked up the samples that inspired her.
Rooms included in the painting renovation were the dining room, living room, two bedrooms, the hallways, and the kitchen. To give the most thorough renovation, painters also added new paint to the ceilings, baseboards, and trims. Laurie chose all Benjamin Moore shades: Cedar Key, Stonington Gray, Sea Foam, Ashan Tan, and White Sand for her ceilings. Her Front door was also re-painted during this project, and the brilliant dark green hue was custom color-matched.
Laurie's interiors are sporting a modern color palette, and her home looks straight out of a magazine! MDF Painting was happy to bring her colorful vision to life!
Joe and Claudia B. contacted MDF Painting after a successful re-paint of their exterior last spring for an interior update. The foyer, stairwells, and hallways needed fresh paint.
The walls didn't need to be resurfaced before painting. Due to the re-arrangement of wall decorations, the nail pops in the walls were already filled and sanded down. The color was a soft pastel gray infused blue that didn't need to be updated. Painters took a chip to Benjamin Moore for custom color-matching in a flat sheen, Ashwood Gray. This was a top to bottom re-paint that included full coverage on the ceilings, walls, doors & trims, baseboards, risers, and stringers. While painters were working, Joe & Claudia decided to add another task. Their equipment room ceiling had cracked, and MDF was glad to help repair it. Painters added screws, three layers of a lightweight compound, and Strait-Flex Drywall Tape to repair the crack. After re-painting, you would never be able to tell! Joe and Claudia loved the results for both jobs, and we were happy to work with them again!
Derek and Amanda M. discovered MDF Painting during their presence at the Better Home Show in Bridgeport, CT. After discussing potential painting needs, a Paint Care Consultant assessed their home. Between this consultation and an interior designer buzz session, the painting ideas for each room were discussed in detail and narrowed down.
Fourteen rooms and areas were on the painting docket. MDF Painting was not the only renovation service called in for this interior maintenance project. A contractor and hardwood floor specialist were also working on the home, so coordination was the key to completing this project on time.
Derek and Amanda wanted to change the colors in the rooms and decided to use shades from Benjamin Moore Regal Select line. The living room, office, and second bedroom were painted Shaker Beiger in a matte finish. Bunny Gray, in a matte finish, was chosen for the nursery and guest bedroom. They chose a stunning dark blue shade for an accent wall in the nursery as well. Shades of soft and creamy neutrals were painted in their dining room, kitchen, and hallways. Pastel shades of green Soft Fern and Pleasant Valley were the choice for the family room and bathroom. All of these shades came together to complement each other throughout the home. This couple felt like their home was completely new after all the work was finished! MDF was just as excited to paint their dream home!
Lauren M. called MDF Painting right before the holidays. She wanted to update her interiors with paint before hosting guests. This included painting her foyer, living room, dining room, hallways, and three bedrooms. MDF was able to answer the call and get Lauren scheduled right away to not spoil her holiday plans.
This multi-room painting project started in her living room. The existing paint job featured a yellow color that had lost its luster with age. The new shade Lauren chose was a modern neutral, Benjamin Moore's Hillside Beige. She chose to do an accent wall for her foyer and used the same color for her fireplace mantel. Benjamin Moore's Brownstone provided a dark and sophisticated pop of color.
These changes completely updated the interior of her home! Changing color schemes can update your space with minimal effort. Call MDF for your own modern paint job and check out our Pinterest page for the latest home color trends!
Jim Z. contacted MDF Painting on behalf of the Greenfield Hill Congressional Church. This historic site was established in Fairfield between 1725-1727. This full painting and floor renovation project was completed in stages to not disrupt services or clergy!
Painters began with power washing the entire church. A few different areas required sanding, but peeling paint wasn't the biggest issue for this project. The trim, fascia, soffit, doors, decks, and siding all needed repainting. Sherwin-Williams Emerald Satin paint was applied to all these areas, except the deck, which was painted with Sherwin-Williams Deckscapes Solid Stain. For the interior, two molding pieces were repainted with custom matched Benjamin Moore products. All of the pews and benches were painted as well. The last part of this project was floor refinishing. This process included sanding, staining, and applying coats of polyurethane. The Church looked excellent after applying new coats of paint. MDF was happy to accommodate the needs of the clergy and parishioners!
Dave A. contacted MDF Painting to repair and repaint the exterior of his home. The trouble areas included the right, left, and back of the property. The carpentry team went over everything with the homeowner before starting the project.
Painters started with a pressure wash that included the home's entire exterior and extra cleaning chemicals used on the back roof. The carpentry team efficiency repaired two corner trims and the fascia where soffit meets the roofline. They replaced two pieces of siding near the garage. After the repairs were finished, sanding the exterior siding prepped the home for new paint. MDF used a slow-drying oil-based primer and a rust inhibitor on all nail heads. Sherwin Williams Emerald was applied to the siding and trim to finish this project. Dave was excited by the new look of his home, and MDF was happy to paint!
Ginny H. called MDF Painting for a power wash of her home, roof, and fence. She also requested the fences around her house and garden to be painted. MDF assured her they were up to the task and fit her into the schedule.
The power wash included the porch area and patio furniture. Painters lightly rinsed the walls, the ceiling overhang, the windows, and doors. The painters prepped the fence for painting. The gates and fence looked fantastic after new paint! Ginny was delighted with the results!
Kathleen V. contacted MDF Painting for a large painting project. She requested interior painting for nearly all the rooms in her Greenwich home. MDF was happy to work with her in accomplishing the job!
Painters started by resurfacing the walls in her home. The team repaired imperfections as needed with a compound mixture. They sanded down everything afterward to ensure a smooth surface for the new paint. Kathleen wanted a total of 12 areas/rooms painted. It included her dining room, kitchen, foyer, Living Room, three closets, two bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, an office, and the master bedroom. The colors changed on the walls for many rooms in this project. Benjamin Moore's Regal Select painting products were used throughout the home. The colors included Gardenia, Simply White, Persian Melon, First Crush, and Polar Ice. These beautiful pastel shades looked fantastic in her home! Kathleen was ecstatic with the results!
Curt & Rita S. of Westport called MDF Painting to update their interiors with new paint. They requested 11 areas to be painted during their project. MDF was excited to get started!
Painters prepped for painting in the dining room, living room, hallways, stairs, kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the laundry room. These rooms were painted from the ceilings to the doors and baseboards. Painter's attention to detail was key in this project. Benjamin Moore's products in Eggshell and Satin finishes were the best choice for this project. Colors included White Diamond, Chalk White, Grey Cloud, and Chantilly Lace. These shades of whites and grays made for a modern color palette throughout the home. Curt & Rita loved it!
Luis P. called MDF Painting to power wash his Greenwich home before selling it. He wanted the job completed immediately and MDF was happy to accommodate his needs!
Our Pressure Washing Technician met with Luis and our Paint Care Consultant to confirm the areas to be cleaned. This included the stone patios throughout the property, the home, and the cabana. Luis also wanted the roof washed before listing his house! He loved the speed and the fresh and clean results of his power washing project!
Tony C called MDF Painting for a full interior paint job and requested light carpentry work too. This included installing crown molding in three rooms. MDF was happy to help refresh the home's interior!
The painting scope covered most of the home, and each room was painted top to bottom, including ceilings, walls, window trims, door trims, and baseboards. Painters prepped each of the sixteen rooms for painting by repairing areas as needed with compound and fiberglass tape, then sanding down. They prepped for the crown molding installation with sanding and caulking so everything would be ready for paint. When everything was ready, the paint crews applied primer. The ceiling was painted white with a flat finish, while the trims used a semi-gloss finish for easier cleaning. The colors changed for the walls in every room but used a matte finish. Tony loved his new interiors!
John G. called MDF Painting for exterior pressure washing and painting for his Easton home. The area around his roof had lichen. This microorganism is usually found on trees and rocks. Sometimes, it grows on a home's exterior.
To take care of the recent growth, and prevent it from coming back, pressure washing technicians will mix in mildew-cides. MDF mixes home cleaning products and disinfectants with pressure washing jobs to provide this type of cleaning and protection for your home. The exterior paint was seamlessly touched up after custom color-matching. John was thrilled with his healthier home!
Lori C. of Westport called MDF Painting to restore the fences around her home. She had both privacy and cattle fences surrounding her property that had peeling issues. MDF painters prepped to stain them with a pressure washing job. Then, they sanded each rail of the cattle fence and the privacy fences to ensure the peeling paint was gone. This lays down a smooth surface for the new stain to adhere, which is ideal. Painters added coats of Sherwin Williams Woodscapes Solid Stain White. Lori loved the look of her new fences!
The first time Keith C. called MDF Painting, he wanted to paint the exterior of his home. His siding had peeling issues, so MDF painters power washed and sanded his home. They prepped for paint by using a slow-drying oil-based primer and applying a rust inhibitor to all the nail heads. Keith didn't want his shutters painted, so they were removed and rehung after the paint dried. The exterior trim was painted using Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin, while the siding used Sherwin Williams Woodscapes to better adhere to the wood. All the paint was custom color-matched by painters to ensure the colors would remain the same.
Keith loved the results of his exterior so much, he recently called MDF again, to stain his deck. Painters prepped using pressure washing and sanding to remove the previous stain. He wanted to use a clear stain that wouldn't add any color to the deck. This shows off the unique beauty of the wood. MDF was excited to paint for Keith again on this deck staining project!
Robert M. called MDF Painting to add fresh paint to miscellaneous areas of the exterior of his Wilton home. The areas that required new paint were around the doors of the home (the front, garage, and back doors).
MDF painters planned out which areas would be painted first. They prepped with power washing and sanding. The front door area included painting the ceiling, sidelights, arch, trim, column, and front door. There was a decorative fan medallion above the front door, which also got fresh paint. One window near the garden received new paint on its trim. The trim and pediment above the garage were painted before moving to the back. The walkout area had two pillars and columns plus another trim that needed new paint. Robert loved the results of his paint project!
Craig P. of Riverside called MDF Painting to give his decks, fence, and stairs a new look. The last stain was peeling and needed some care. MDF sent painters to fix it.
They started with a power wash to both decks and the entire fence. To address the peeling, painters sanded down everything for a smooth surface. The spindles, rails, and fence were painted white using Sherwin Williams Superdeck in a semi-solid finish. The deck steps complemented the stone patio by using a stain with a similar shade of gray. Craig loved the new look of his back decks and fence!
Raja D. has called MDF Painting for 3 separate jobs over the years. The first time, she requested exterior and interior painting work with power washing. MDF knew our painters could handle all the work. They power washed and sanded the deck and fence before adding new coats of stain. The fence was stained a solid white to make it stand out. Then painters added new coats to the shed floor and walls. For the interior work, they painted the kitchen door and the living room.
The second time Raja called, she requested our Painter for the Day service. This option is best if you have many small painting jobs throughout your home. She wanted the painters to touch up miscellaneous areas throughout the interior. She was so happy with MDF's work so far she called to power wash her home. She wanted it to be treated with a cleaning mix targeting the mold, mildew, and dirt on the siding. After being cleaned, this is washed off with a power washer. We loved working with Raja over the years!
Donna P. called MDF Painting to update the interiors of her home in Cos Cob. She found us in the phone book after another contractor's work peeled off. MDF was happy to fix the peeling paint and make everything right.
Before fixing the walls, MDF completed a floor epoxy job in the garage. After letting the floor "cure" for 60 days, painters came back. Donna didn't want to change the colors in her home, so painters custom color-matched each room before painting. New paint was added to the kitchen, foyer, living room library, basement stairs, and garage. They also painted the bathrooms throughout the home. Donna was happy to see her peeling walls fixed before the holidays!
Norma O. called MDF Painting after receiving a postcard in the mail. She wanted to paint the exterior of her home, and it was important to her that it was a job well done. MDF was happy to help her refresh her home!
Power washing technicians helped start the job by cleaning the home. Painters prepped for the new paint with sanding. They measured the moisture before painting to ensure the new paint would not bubble or peel. Painters used Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin to give Norma the best products. She was pleased with the results of her paint job, and MDF loves knowing we met her expectations!
Frederick B. called MDF Painting to update the paint of his Greenwich home. This project included various places on the house's interiors and exteriors, including the doors.
The doors were thoroughly sanded and caulked before adding fresh paint. The locks and doorknobs were newly installed, so the painters worked around them carefully. After finishing the doors, they started painting the assortment of walls and trim. A repaired cabinet was custom color-matched and painted. Painters addressed the peeling paint issues in the sunroom and applied fresh coats. Frederick loved the results of the new paint!
Rick P. called MDF Painting after hearing great things from a friend of his. He requested a power wash for his home and a fresh coat of stain for his gazebo. Power wash technicians used a combination of house cleaning solution and soft washing with a pressure washer. They paid extra attention to the gazebo to prep for a new stain. Rick wanted the quality of the wood to shine, so he chose a semi-transparent stain in slightly dark color than the original. This project featured Sherwin William's Superdeck products to give the best quality stain job. Rick loved the results and will be enjoying his gazebo for years to come!
Eric G. called MDF Painting to update his exterior after receiving a flyer in the mail. After meeting with a Paint Care Consultant, he decided to repair spots on his deck and home before painting everything. MDF was happy to help with his carpentry and painting needs.
Power wash technicians soft washed the home, deck, and Bilco door to prepare for new paint. They applied a cleaning solution to kill any mildew or dirt before sanding. The carpentry work included replacing pieces of his siding, fascia, deck rails, and trim pieces all over the property. Since the siding was wood, painters measured the moisture levels before adding an oil-based primer. The Blico door needed a direct-to-metal (DTM) rust inhibitor and paint products. Painters custom color-matched everything. Eric loved the results and the professionalism of our employees!
Salvator C. called MDF Painting after looking for a company that offered both power washing and painting services. He wanted to sanitize the exterior of his home and stain the doors. MDF sent power washing technicians to soak the property, including the house, walkways, pool, BBQ area, and all stone walls. For the doors, painters sanded down the existing stain and paid extra attention to any peeling areas. They applied a semi-transparent stain to the wooden garage and entrances. The painters custom color-matched, so the stain color would remain the same. Sal loved the results of this exterior project!
Lauren M. called MDF Painting the first time after hearing about the quality painting services from friends of hers. We completed her interior painting project in time for the holiday season. She was so happy with the results she pushed ahead with another project. Call center scheduling expert Stephanie scheduled her in the early spring to power wash her home and stain her deck.
Power washing technicians cleaned a week before to ensure everything would be dry before a new stain. Lauren's deck had a two-toned wood and white look that she didn't want to change. The previous stain on the wood was sanded down before adding fresh coats. The new stain color was a warmer shade that complimented the white better. Lauren has continued to hire MDF for the beautification projects around her home and has scheduled another interior job for the coming winter season. MDF is excited to keep working with her!
Helen called MDF Painting after seeing the results of her neighbor's paint job. She and her husband were so impressed they decided to refresh their exterior as well! MDF sent a Paint Care Consultant to discuss their painting project.
After scheduling a start date, power washing technicians prepped the home for new paint. They used pressure washing to clean the surface and help with removing the peeling paint. Painters came to sand the rest of the failing paint. Since there were no repairs, this paint job was straightforward. MDF measured the moisture on the wooden siding. After ensuring there were no areas that read over 13%, painters added an oil-based primer. Helen wanted a dark grey shade instead of the pale green color that was painted on her home previously. She loved the results of the Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin paint! We loved working with this neighbor referral!
Mike and Julie B. first called MDF Painting a few years ago to repair and repaint their home in Greenwich. They were particularly concerned with carpentry needed on the doorways and windows on the west side of their home. Their clapboard also needed new paint. MDF sent their best carpenters and painters to fix this home the way it deserved.
When they had another issue with a doorway, Mike knew to call MDF for top-quality repairs and paint. While fixing this doorway, the couple requested some additional Bondo repairs to some windows as well. Our painters provided excellent results to help this couple with their home! MDF was happy to work with them again!
Ken and Lynn called MDF Painting after hearing great reviews from a friend. Their insurance was covering severe cracks in their ceiling that also needed new paint. MDF scheduled them right away to help this stressful process go as smoothly as possible.
The cracked ceilings were in the bathroom and living room. Painters applied the DAP repair kit to each crack, which is our go-to product for lasting drywall repairs. After adding the mesh and letting the spackle dry, the painting prep work included sanding down the ceiling. When the patch was even with the rest of the ceiling, new paint was added in each room. For the living room, it was a flat finish, while the bathroom used a semi-gloss. Ken appreciated that the crew arrived on time, and talked him through the process. He loved the results and sleeps easier knowing those cracks are sealed tight!
Todd H. knew that as a previous customer, MDF was going to take care of his painting and power washing needs. He called in the spring to request some exterior maintenance for his Greenwich home. Within a few weeks, we scheduled his power washing portion.
The power washing technicians paid extra attention to the mildew growth on home, stone patio, and garage. For this process, MDF will mix mildew killers with house cleaning to create a solution, which soaks on the home. Then, they will take a power washer on a lower setting to "soft wash" the areas as needed. As a special request, painters added fresh stain to teak patio chairs. They also applied direct-to-metal paint for other patio furniture. The other painting tasks included touch-ups to the kitchen walls, the metal gates, the garage door, a screened porch, and the front door. Todd knew he could count on MDF to deliver, and he loved the results! We thank you for coming back to us!

This homeowner called MDF just to soft wash the roof to remove all of the moss and mold spores. I could not help but notice all of the peelings and fading on the exterior of the home, which encouraged me to ask the homeowner if she was interested in getting a quote for the exterior painting. She had told me that she uses a local painting contractor to paint the home. What grabbed my attention was that this home was just painted a few years ago, and after looking around, it looked like it hasn’t been painted in a decade.
As an MDF consultant, I thoroughly explained the consequences of painting the home without properly prepping it first. With the amount of peeling and alligator-looking solid stain on the shingles, I couldn’t help but explain that she is in need of a proper paint job from MDF. Adding mill thickness of paint to old paint (which is millimeters off the thickness of paint applied) to the home just adds more weight and as a result, you get the cracks and peels because it now breaks at the point of adhesion, which is where it was prepped and primed. Painting the exterior of your home is a costly investment and any homeowner would like to see their home last for longer than two years after investing the amount of money that is needed for this particular project. So MDF will do what we do best, and get to work by sanding and scraping all problem areas, feather sanding for a smooth finish, using a wire brush to get in between the texture of the shingles, spot priming all beer wood areas with a slow drying oil primer to ensure proper adhesion and a longer lasting paint job. All exterior siding, facia boards, soffits, corner boards, door trim, and window trim will be painted/stained and we can put this one in the books as another happy customer and added to our list of 10,000 past customers!

For the exterior, we will replace any rotted deck boards and railings, sand down the exterior deck, and power wash all railings, spindles, and the deck floor.
