Robert's decks were not in great shape and decided to call MDF to stain the three decks he had on his home in Madison, CT.
Crew leader, Sergio, and his crew began working by pressure washing the three decks to remove any dirt and have a clean canvas to work with. So, we applied two finishing coats of Sherwin Williams Superdeck in the shade of Spicewood SW3021. And for the railings, facias, and spindles we applied Sherwin Williams Superdeck solid color in the shade of Pure White SW7005. Robert was satisfied with the end result. Thank you for the opportunity of working on your home!
Katie’s home located in Madison, CT needed a few repairs and a new paint job on the exterior. After doing her research she contacted MDF to have the job professionally done.
Crew leader, Denielle and his crew began by prepping the exterior of the home. They pressure washed the entire exterior to remove any dirt that was on the siding of the home. Denielle allowed the surface thoroughly dry, the crew then sanded to remove the deteriorating paint. The next step is especially important, Denielle measured the moisture on the sanded areas to make sure it is below 13%. If the content is below 13%, they are then able to proceed by applying an oil-based primer on the bare siding. The crew added Shermax Premium caulk in all the areas where the trim meets the siding. On the trims the crew applied a full coverage coat of Sherwin-Williams Exterior Emerald Satin paint. Poo this includes all the windows the doors the fascia and soffits. Then they painted the home, Katie asked to color match the color that was on the home. The last step was to do the final walk through. This is when CHS, Teles, Crew Leader, Denielle, and Katie walk around the home to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

After making sure the moisture level was below 13%, they applied a finish coat of an oil-based primer to the bare wood. And painted the trims using the Sherwin Williams Exterior Emerald Satin paint. The final step was to add the finishing touch and paint the home with a fresh coat of Sherwin Williams paint in the shade of SW 6109 Hopsack.
Paula and Steve had MDF paint a different home about 3-4 years ago for them. And after being pleased with the job we had done then, they decided to give us a call to paint the interior of their current home.
Victor, one of our crew leaders, and his team began working. There were 5 rooms in total that needed to be painted and one staircase and the hall. After planning out the job, the started to work on the bathroom. In the bathroom victors crew patched the ceiling and painted it with a coat of full coverage paint. A fresh coat of paint was added to the walls and to both the window and door trims also the baseboards. The door was also painted. The next room was the kitchen, in there the ceilings were painted as well as the walls and the trims. The rooms to follow were the living room, dining room, bedroom, hall, and the stairs. For each room we applied a full coverage coat of paint to the ceilings as well as the walls and the trims. In all the rooms except the bedroom and the staircase, they added a fresh coat of paint to the doors. For the color selection all of the walls were painted using Benjamin Moore Regal Matte paint in the shade of OC-119 Cloud Nine. On the trims and baseboards, we used the Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo paint in the same shade as the walls. Lastly, in the bathroom we used the Benjamin Moore Spa paint to match the existing color. And as for the ceilings we used the standard ceiling white paint from Benjamin Moore.
Roberto S. called MDF Painting to add some new life into his faded stain. He had a front porch, a back deck, and a balcony. MDF was confident they could restore the shine and color of all the decks.
Power washing technicians soaked all three surfaces with cleaning solutions and pressure washed them. Painters came for the prep work, which required sanding in any areas that had faded or peeling stain. Roberto wanted a color-infused solid stain, and he picked Sherwin Williams Superdeck. Everything was covered on each deck (the floors, spindles, rails, and posts) for an even and uniform finish. The new shade was Sherwin Williams Umber Rust (SW 9100). Roberto enjoys all three of his decks!
Steve M. of Madison had a problem. The side porch of his charming home was peeling top and bottom. Cobwebs were tangled in the ceiling support beams. For the interior, three rooms needed repairs and repainting. Steve contacted MDF Painting to power wash the exterior, repaint the deck, and fix his interiors as well.
The pressure washing cleared out the ceiling beam cobwebs and cleaned the house wall. The deteriorating paint was on the deck floor, the top of stairs, miscellaneous areas on railings, some of the posts, and the trim. After these areas were sanded down to bare wood, moisture levels measured below 13%. This magic number meant that the deck was ready for new paint. MDF's standard is to use an oil-based primer on the bare wood. For this particular project, painters also applied an alcohol-based stain kill primer. Homeowners opt into this type of primer for several reasons; the alcohol will kill lingering odors, such as after a fire. In this case, it was to cover the knots in the all-wood exterior patio. The trim, posts, base trim around deck, top railing, spindles, bottom rails, and french doors got one coat of fresh Sherwin Willaims Emerald Satin paint. Sherwin Williams Duration Flat was applied to the ceiling and house wall.
The interior included painting after repairing dents in a bedroom and the kitchen. Steve was so happy with the results he recently contacted MDF to paint other rooms in his home. We thank you for your continued business!
