Yale University in New Haven, CT invited MDF to bid on the recent interior paint job of their dorms and other residential buildings around the campus. After graduation on May 20th, 2019, they needed a paint company to take care of this expansive project while there was a lull between students who just left and students who are just starting. The main focus of the project was the Vanderbilt Wings donated by the famed family. The Vanderbilt’s gained fame during the Gilded Age, which was used to give generous sums of money to several foundations & organizations. The results of these grants can still be seen today not only at Yale University, but also the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, just to name a few. Originally, the hall was modified in order to house the women on campus, after allowing both genders to starting attending the university in 1969. Today, it is just a dorm hall with so much history attached to it. After winning the bid, it took a total of 8 business days to complete about 174 rooms in 4 residency buildings. The project went beyond than just adding an extra layer of paint. There was drywall damage in some areas, caused by tacks, frames, hooks and tapes, that required a compound mixture to be applied before sanding off to an even finish. After the small carpentry fixes for the dry wall, the workers tackled caulking the crown molding in each room and cleaned all the dust from sanding. Some of these suites required more attention than others, and plaster was needed to help solve these issues. Each product has a purpose, whether it is used on wood, drywall, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, or metal. We topped off this project by using top quality paint for every room. The university was very pleased to have fresh rooms for their incoming students and MDF was more than happy to help achieve this goal.
The Yale School of Management began to form in 1950 when the university started expanding towards more courses that focused on organization and management. It was born from the Department of Industrial Administration and the Labor & Management Center. When alumni Frederick W. Beinecke donated in 1971, he asked that the money be used to start the program of the Master’s in Public and Private Management. The firm of Foster and Partners designed the building in 1962 to be a meeting place for technology and education, which still holds true today. The official title of the Yale School of Management came in 1994, a little before reworking the program to include Master of Business Administration Courses. MDF has been called in to help maintain this campus between semesters for the last several years. This year’s work included a few different touch ups. Carpentry was used on the ceilings to fix uneven areas where the light fixtures were mounted. There was also a patch of ceiling in one of the classrooms that had damage, which we used a compound to fix. We re-painted a few offices. We added a custom design for labelling classrooms in the hallways. We were glad to return to this very important job and will continue to help Yale School of Management pass on their knowledge to new students. Wayne’s beautiful Branford home was built in 1992. Why did he call MDF? He knew as a repeat customer that the company could be counted on for some exterior updating. The first job completed for Wayne was back in 2004, when he worked with Mark & Lisa for a full exterior project: Power washing for the house and decks (allowing for maximum paint & stain adhesion), maintenance with caulking to stop exterior moisture issues, scraping & sanding peeling paint areas to ensure the smoothest paint application possible, primer used on all bare wood before applying any paint, and of course a finish coat of the highest quality paint available. After finishing the project, Wayne was so happy with the results, he called MDF again in 2011. This time, the exterior maintenance required only a fresh coat of paint to the exterior trim including the doors and windows. Any areas that still had deteriorating paint were sanded as needed before setting down the new paint. The caulk that had since broken down needed to be stripped and re-applied.
For this 2019 job, carpentry was needed in a few spots where the weather had worn down the windows and roof support. Before the crew started exterior painting, they power wash to eliminate the built up of algae on the home’s exterior. After the property was thoroughly washed (behind the window shutters too!), workers started on the carpentry repairs. First, the garage trim was replaced and a few of window shutters too. Damaged clapboard was replaced, then caulked to help with those persistent moisture issues. From there, window trims were treated with a bonding agent, then re-caulked to ensure no leaks. After repairs, sanding began to all areas with deteriorating paint before primer could be applied. Because some of the exterior materials were wood, MDF decided on a slow-drying oil primer. The extra time to dry ensures a better adhesion and long lasting, high-quality finish every time. Sherwin Williams current go-to high quality paint is Emerald Satin, which has been matched to Wayne’s existing exterior perfectly.
James Hillhouse started a program in New Haven to plant trees in 1784. Specifically, he planted Elm trees, which sparked The Elm City nickname. The Historic Hillhouse Avenue has been called the first suburb in the US due to James’ planning of the lots, street, and their proximity to the downtown area. He moved houses further back in order to make room for the Elm trees that lined the street, giving the road a park-like appearance. The area is very different now, as Hillhouse Avenue is only two blocks long, with the residential areas designated a Historic District in 1985. Yale University now owns all the properties on the avenue except for St Mary’s Church.
51 Hillhouse is an extravagant Italian villa-style house. It was constructed in 1862 and represents a late evolution of the Italianate style that was revived in New Haven. Emphasizing irregular floor plans and decorative motifs inspired by Gothic Revival, this style was easy to replicate in urban settings. A prominent feature for homes in this style was a cupola, which 51 Hillhouse does have. This stunning property was last restored in 1994. MDF got a call from Yale asking for it to be worked on again. The building needed carpentry repairs in addition to new coats of paint.
Due to the Historic District regulations, exact colors needed to be matched and the ornate details that make this estate extraordinary needed to be replicated exactly. MDF workers ended up collecting 72 paint samples to ensure the color would match the existing colors prior to fading. MDF was determined to polish up this house and return it to its full glory. The best match was from the Sherwin Williams Woodscapes collection, a specific brand of high-quality solid stain. We chose nothing but the best for this revival!
The carpentry needed to restore the villa was expansive. For this particular property, all the moldings were custom made. Some areas were not previously patched during the last renovation and were in desperate need of repair or replacement due to rotting. The areas that needed to be re-built were the back windowsills, stair handrails, and the back-stair posts. The pieces of rotted siding and rotted clapboards needed replacement. The most detailed carpentry work was rebuilding the upper porch with custom posts, handrails, and moldings. MDF sent their go-to carpentry experts to handle this project with the balance of grace and critical skills needed to replicate these custom pieces. After repainting every exterior surface with those perfectly matched colors, we can add this restoration to our 20-year tradition of keeping Yale exquisite.
College athletes always train vigorously during the year without fail, but during the summer months, it isn’t as easy. This was the issue Yale Rowing coach Tony Johnson was facing during 1970. Rowing is a competitive sport, with Yale’s yearly regatta against Harvard, U.S. National and Olympic Rowing Team tryouts on the line. With this in mind, he founded the New Haven Rowing club, and because of those efforts, the crews he was coaching made the Nation Team trials in 1970 & 1971, and the Olympic Team trials in 1972. Due to increasing popularity, Yale needed more boathouse space. The university purchased land close to Yale boathouse in 1992 and constructed the facility that currently stands in Oxford.
Now, the New Haven Rowing Club is a well-known institution throughout the country. Set on the Housatonic River, the club has had long standing moisture issues with the cedar exterior walls. The management team had called MDF to test each exterior panel to see how extensive the issues were. Any cedar pieces that had moisture issues over 13% were replaced. Workers matched the existing paint with Benjamin Moore Arborcoat in Aspen Tan, which is designed to be used over wood surfaces to resist mildew and ensure a long-lasting paint job. Trims were painted with Benjamin Moore Fairview Taupe to keep it light & neutral. This project was completed right before Labor Day, and the patrons of this wonderful club will enjoy it during every race!
Michelle T. called MDF for a full interior paint job and popcorn ceiling removal. The interior painting portion of the project included the hallways, 5 bedrooms, 3 closets, the office, living room, dining room, and the kitchen. The stairway leading to the bedroom was made from natural wood and was included in the list of areas to paint.
To be sure these stairs would be painted properly, and to reduce fading from heavy foot traffic MDF workers prepped by sanding each stair. The crew also sanded the areas underneath and in between to ensure the work would come out evenly. After the prep work was finished, the stairs were treated with a bonding agent. The surface that natural wood has makes it harder for paint to adhere unless treated properly first. From there, workers added 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. After that, a finishing coat of paint was applied. The final product was a strong layer of white paint that blended the sides of the staircase into the drywall sections around it seamlessly. The area under it was painted white as well. The natural wood finish remained on the railings and stepping tops only, leaving the foyer and halls with a two-toned modern look that our client Michelle loved!
Ann B. called MDF Painting to update the colorful walls in her marvelous Milford home. The previous paint job had started to chip away. There were also plaster sections on the walls that had been repaired by the homeowner. Between these two factors, the paint looked inconsistent throughout the home.
While painting the bathroom of Ann's house, the medicine cabinet was removed. A hole was left in its previous place due to how it fits into the wall. We replaced the supporting 2 x 4 and sheetrock. After these fixes, MDF's painters applied a skim coat of plaster. The patch was sanded down to blend seamlessly into the existing wall. Then, painters applied primer and paint. Two coats of Benjamin Moore paint were used on the walls. The colors used throughout Ann's home were custom mixed. Her walls are still colorful with an elegant touch! The bathroom looks as good as new and MDF Painting was happy to help.
Steve M. of Madison had a problem. The side porch of his charming home was peeling top and bottom. Cobwebs were tangled in the ceiling support beams. For the interior, three rooms needed repairs and repainting. Steve contacted MDF Painting to power wash the exterior, repaint the deck, and fix his interiors as well.
The pressure washing cleared out the ceiling beam cobwebs and cleaned the house wall. The deteriorating paint was on the deck floor, the top of stairs, miscellaneous areas on railings, some of the posts, and the trim. After these areas were sanded down to bare wood, moisture levels measured below 13%. This magic number meant that the deck was ready for new paint. MDF's standard is to use an oil-based primer on the bare wood. For this particular project, painters also applied an alcohol-based stain kill primer. Homeowners opt into this type of primer for several reasons; the alcohol will kill lingering odors, such as after a fire. In this case, it was to cover the knots in the all-wood exterior patio. The trim, posts, base trim around deck, top railing, spindles, bottom rails, and french doors got one coat of fresh Sherwin Willaims Emerald Satin paint. Sherwin Williams Duration Flat was applied to the ceiling and house wall.
The interior included painting after repairing dents in a bedroom and the kitchen. Steve was so happy with the results he recently contacted MDF to paint other rooms in his home. We thank you for your continued business!
Lori K. contacted MDF Painting for exterior maintenance around her home. She didn't request a full re-paint of her home. Instead, Lori was very specific on what areas she needed painting maintenance.
After pressure washing her home, the exterior already looked much brighter. Her steps to her front and side doors were peeling. The deck in her backyard was also completely unstained and needed a protective layer from the sun and harsh weather. Painters started with the deck. It was stained using Sherwin Williams Superdeck in Banyan Brown in a Semi-Transparent finish. The stairs were painted with Sherwin Williams Concrete paint in Clay. The color was custom matched to ensure there would be no discrepancies.
After painting two areas of her exterior, plus the power wash, Lori's home looks completely refreshed! Sometimes the little things go a long way. She was ecstatic with the results!
When Lindsay T. needed exterior maintenance, she called MDF Painting for carpentry and new paint. She knew that everything would be taken care of with the highest quality paint products.
As always, MDF started this exterior project with power washing. This ensures the surfaces will be as clean as possible before resurfacing starts. Painters then sanded away peeling paint. The carpentry team took over before new paint was applied. Lindsay's foyer from her front door required fascia board replacement, as well as the trim surrounding it. The window trim was also replaced for several windows and around the garage door too. Miscellaneous clapboard spliced were swapped with new pieces.
When these repairs were completed, painters got to work. The existing paint was Benjamin Moore's Hamilton Blue, but Sherwin Williams was able to custom color-match this shade in their Woodscapes collection. Lindsay picked a complementary sky blue shade for her Bilco door. Her concrete front steps and foundation were stained gray using HC Concrete Stain. The entire home's color scheme looks perfect! Lindsay's repairs are completely seamless, and she couldn't be happier.
Irene D. had peeling paint on her home's exterior in Orange, CT. Her bay window trim was also damaged. She called MDF Painting to take care of this exterior maintenance and to address the discoloration in her previous paint job.
To solve the peeling issues, painters used an electric sander and wire brushing. These tools took off the flaking paint pieces for a smoother surface to prep for painting. Because Irene's siding was wood, MDF treated all nail heads with a rust inhibitor and applied an oil-based primer. They also re-applied caulk to the trim and shingles. Irene chose Sherwin Williams Woodscapes in Palmetto to lighten her home's color slightly. The trim was painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin in a bright white color that complemented the light neutral tone of the siding. Her discoloration issues are completely gone, and her bay window is now perfect. MDF Painting saves the day with a marvelous paint job!
John B. called MDF Painting to complete carpentry repairs to his home in Guilford, CT. Areas throughout the home, deck, and breezeway needed attention. He also wanted fresh coats of paint to change the hue of his home.
Clapboard splices were repaired on the garage, breezeway roofline, windows, and the patio. Trim for windows, and the front door was replaced on the left side of the house. Bondo was applied to repairs to strengthen them all over the exterior. For the deck connecting to the sunroom, the backbench, the deck floor, one of the stairs, and 2 doors were completely replaced. The lattice around it was fixed. New handrails brought the whole deck together. The painters applied one coat of Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin to all trim. Both front doors were painted with Fine Paints of Europe Hollandlac Brilliant. For the siding, painters used Sherwin Williams Woodscapes. John was happy his home repairs were completed and loved his new paint job!
Marianne G. contacted MDF Painting to paint the interior of the school she was representing. The entire pre-school needed painting, including both classrooms, the hallways, and staircases. The walls required repair before new paint. Cracks and holes in the drywall were addressed by the use of compound and tape. Then, the walls were sanded and primed. They applied Sherwin Williams Emerald Matte in Navajo White to the classrooms and hallways. The trim, doors, and stairs were painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel in Pure White. The paint job came out wonderfully, and Marianne adored the results!
A year later, she contacted MDF again to power wash the exterior of the school, as well as the walkways and entrances. Marianne also requested staining samples for a staining job for the siding, using Sherwin William's Woodscapes. She was delighted with the results, and MDF cannot wait to hear from her again!
Imagineers and Turtle Bay have hired MDF many times in the past decade so they knew they could rely on to perform this project flawlessly. We completed over 100 decks and entryways in just over 3 weeks!
The product chosen for the project was Sherwin Williams SuperDeck solid stain. Before staining, all the decks were power washed to remove any green algae from the floors and railings. Next, oil-based primer was necessary on all the bare wood as these decks were exposed to harsh weather along the waterfront. Significant sanding was necessary on all the peeling areas.
Shaun G. called MDF painting concerning the exterior of his Cheshire home. He requested to have the home and gutters power washed to fight off some algae growing. He also needed light carpentry work and re-painting around the front door.
The power washing was able to clean the entire home, including the gutters. The carpentry team replaced rotted boards above the front door. Painters then sanded to prep for re-painting. These sections were all painted white. Shaun loved the results!
Janice A. contacted MDF Painting to remove the texture ceilings throughout her home. The look was outdated and needed to be more modern.
The painters started by sanding off the texture for each ceiling. This included the kitchen, hallway, bedroom, and bathroom. The hallway ceiling also needed a hole repaired before new paint or primer. The kitchen had cracking issues. In the bedroom and bathroom, the texture on the ceiling was to be blended, meaning it wouldn't be sanded completely smooth, but the texture would be less prominent. The repairs used a combination of compound tape and plaster as needed. Before repainting, the repairs were sanded down to blend better with the existing drywall. After this, a new primer and paint were applied. The ceilings were coated in Benjamin Moore Calcimine. Janice's ceilings looked better than ever! She and MDF were so excited about the update!
Gordon S. called MDF Painting to remove textured ceilings and paint. He asked our painters to complete two additional rooms after the work was started. MDF completed all the work in a timely fashion.
Removing a textured ceiling can be a messy process that might have harmful chemicals underneath. That's why consulting a professional for this service is the best route, especially when children are in the home. Painters were to remove the ceiling in the upstairs hallway, the stairs, and two bedrooms. The additional work included the guest bedroom & a child's bedroom. After adding a skim coat of compound and sanding, painters applied primer. The ceilings were painted using Benjamin Moore products that were custom color-matched. The results were fantastic and seamless!
Elizabeth C. called MDF Painting to paint the interior of her home. The work included painting four rooms and the halls, with a small repair in the kitchen.
For the living room, dining room, and hallway, the colors changed. Painters prepped everything to be painted, including the walls, the window, and door trim. The fireplace mantle was also painted in the living room. The kitchen doors were painted after repairing the verticle trim with a two-part Bondo filler. Elizabeth loved the look of her painted interiors and couldn't be happier with the colors!
Anthony C. called MDF Painting to paint in his kitchen. He wanted the island and his cabinets painted. MDF accommodated the paint crews with his schedule, and they worked at night.
Painters prepped cabinets by removing the doors and hardware. Then they sanded the island and cabinet pieces. Benjamin Moore Stix Primer was used to prep everything for new paint. For the final coats, painters applied Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo. Anthony loved his new kitchen!
Erin D. called MDF Painting after moving to Connecticut from out of state. She was to add new paint to make it feel more like her home. MDF agreed to consult with an interior designer to pick out the best paint ideas.
After the design decisions were made, painters started prep work to paint the interior. This included the stairways, hallways, kitchen, living room, dining room, an office, and two bedrooms. The bedrooms, office, kitchen, and dining room all changed colors after new paint. The living room incorporated a two-toned paint job separated by a piece of molding featuring shades of blue. All the trim painted was custom-matched to its color. All Benjamin Moore products were used during this interior paint job. Erin adored the results! She has set up appointments for MDF to start work on the exterior of her home, and we're excited!
Joe C called MDF Painting to work on his interior. He wanted to paint the hallway, foyer, dining room, kitchen, and living room of his home in Guilford, CT, and remove the textured ceiling. MDF was happy to help with this ceiling and wall update!
To prep for paint, painters had to remove the wallpaper in every room. The walls needed to be sanded and cleaned to remove all traces of wallpaper and glue. Next, the painters removed the textured ceilings. They repaired any uneven patches that textured ceilings tend to hide by using compound and fiberglass tape. They sanded these repairs down before priming and painting. Joe decided to paint the ceilings a simple shade of bright white. Benjamin Moore's painting products were used throughout this project. Cocoa Sand, Navajo White, and White Dove coated the walls for the kitchen, living room, hallway, foyer, and dining room. The trim was painted only in the dining room, using Benjamin Moore's Advanced Satin in White. Joe loved the new colors of his home and doesn't miss the wallpaper or the textured ceilings!
Jan D. called MDF Painting to repair and paint the exterior of her home in Branford, CT. Painters had to replace one window trim, pieces of the front door trim, and pieces of the garage door trim. They prepped for painting the exterior with a pressure washing job and sanding. Painters used a slow drying oil-based primer on the wood for the best results. Benjamin Moore Satin in a custom color-matched shade was painted on all the trim and siding. Jan loved the results!
Sandy B. called MDF for exterior maintenance on her home in North Branford. She was having mold issues near her roof-line, some of her deck pieces rotted out, and she wanted to stain it too.
MDF fulfilled her staining, carpentry, and power washing needs. Painters power washed the entire home, deck, and garage. They added a house cleaning mix that included mildewcides to kill off the mold around her roof. These cleaners also slow any regrowth of microorganisms so your home will be healthier for longer. The carpentry work included replacing 32’ of rail, five spindles, and two feet of the deck steps to remove the rotted areas. After this, painters sanded the deck to prepare it for the new stain. Sandy picked Sherwin Williams Superdeck solid stain in Cape Cod Red (SW 3020). The results were beautiful, and Sandy loved them!
Gabriela F. called MDF Painting to stain the deck around the pool of her West Haven home. She met with a Paint Care Consultant, where she stressed that her main concern was getting the work done as soon as possible. Thanks to early spring and the MDF scheduling masters, we able to start working soon after.
The deck had two tiers that led from her back door to the pool. The dirt had built up over the years and started growing mildew. Power washing technicians cleaned off the dirt after a thorough job. Even though this resulted in a lighter wood than before, the job wasn't done. Painters prepped for the new stain by sanding top to bottom. The stain was Sherwin Williams Superdeck using semi-solid and solid finishes for different amounts of color on the spindles, rails, and deck floor. Gabriela loved her the results of her deck, finished just before summer!
Roberto S. called MDF Painting to add some new life into his faded stain. He had a front porch, a back deck, and a balcony. MDF was confident they could restore the shine and color of all the decks.
Power washing technicians soaked all three surfaces with cleaning solutions and pressure washed them. Painters came for the prep work, which required sanding in any areas that had faded or peeling stain. Roberto wanted a color-infused solid stain, and he picked Sherwin Williams Superdeck. Everything was covered on each deck (the floors, spindles, rails, and posts) for an even and uniform finish. The new shade was Sherwin Williams Umber Rust (SW 9100). Roberto enjoys all three of his decks!
Adwana C. called MDF Painting to stain the deck in the back of her Milford home. She wanted her deck a darker color.
MDF painters sanded, and power washed the deck before staining. She chose to use Sherwin Williams Charwood (SW 3542) in a semi-solid finish. This allowed the rich brown shade to stain the wood while letting the grains and knots come through. She loved highlighting the natural beauty of her deck!
Mike B. called MDF Painting after getting a postcard in the mail. He was looking to update his exterior with new paint and fix a few damaged areas. MDF was happy to help with his carpentry and painting needs.
MDF's power washing technicians pressure washed and sanitized the home before removing the gutters and downspouts. The homeowner met with our carpentry to discuss repairs. They replaced pieces of the front porch overhang and floorboard. Various repair work included the molding, columns, window trims, and door trims on the right and back of the home. The carpenters replaced pieces from the back deck as well. After this, painters sanded peeling paint from the wooden siding. The painters custom color-matched his exterior colors in Sherwin Williams Woodscapes products. Mike was happy his home was fixed and freshly painted!
Jim W. called MDF Painting after receiving a postcard in the mail. He had a few different home projects in mind and discussed them in detail with our Paint Care Consultant during his appointment. He decided to address the mold and mildew issues on his home in Bethany first.
Power washing technicians went to the home as soon as the spring weather was warm enough. They soaked the house, deck, entryways, and roof in cleaning solutions that target mold, dirt, and mildew. They used power washers on a low setting to rise off the solution after letting it soak. This method keeps dirt, moss, and other germs from coming back quickly. After loving the results that brightened his exterior, Jim has planned for MDF to tackle miscellaneous painting for the exterior and interior of the property before possibly selling. We're so excited to continue the work!
Jason D. called MDF Painting to power wash and paint the Bilco door on his Branford home. The metal door needed specific products and prep to provide the best paint job. As a previous customer, he knew that MDF could get the job done right. Power washing technicians cleaned the house, deck, and front porch to kill off the mildew growing on the north side. Painters prepped the Bilco door by sanding off the deteriorating paint. It was treated with an anti-rust primer before applying DTM (direct-to-metal) paint products. The door color switched from a faded red to a soft white, complementing the home's exterior better. Jason loved the results of this project! He was impressed with MDF's commitment and communication, and we were happy with him again!
After having some work done at his own home, George, a returning client wanted to give his mother in law, Helen, the great MDF experience he went though too!
We were called to paint the exterior of her single-story home located in West Haven, CT. In addition to painting window frames, the foundation, and the doors. The entire exterior of the house was pressure washed including all the clapboard, foundation, the stone wall, concrete walkway, and the trims. Next, all the areas were sanded, and primed using an oil-based primer. And finished it with a coat of Sherman Williams paint in the shade of SW 6681 Butter Up for the clapboard.
The front door of the home was sanded and painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin in the shade of White and painted the trims using the same color. Lastly, we used the Sherman Williams Loxon in the shade of White for the foundation.
Andy is a new homeowner, after receiving a welcome to the neighborhood card from us he called MDF to paint the exterior of his Southbury, CT home.
Before painting the home, the MDF crew had to sand and prime the home so that once the color is chosen the house will be ready to paint. In addition to painting the exterior he requested we stain the shutters and stain his two decks on the rear side of the house. For the color of the exterior, Andy first decided to view a few samples in different shades of blue. After thinking about it he preferred to see a few samples in the yellow range instead, he was looking for something on the brighter side rather thank the darker tones. Lastly, he firmly decided to go with the Sherwin Williams color in the shade of SW 9016 La Luna Amarilla.
This home in Wallingford, CT needed a power wash done so Julie called MDF to get it professionally done.
The Entire surface area of the rear side of the home, right side of the garage and rear deck was soaked with a cleaning solution to eat away at the dirt, mold, and mildew. Next the entire rear side of the home, right side of garage and rear deck was thoroughly power washed with a 2450 + PSI ( Pounds Per Square Inch) pressure washer to ensure a fully cleaned surface.
Adam and Jennifer contacted MDF to professionally have the exterior of their home entirely painted. They decided it was time to switch up the look on their home in Guilford, CT.
The first step of this project was to pressure wash the exterior of the home to make sure it is clean and softly rinse the roof as well. The next step is to sand the siding on the home and apply an oil-based primer. Allowing the primer to dry, we then applied a full coverage paint to the exterior of the home from Sherwin Williams in the shade of SW 7674 Peppercorn.
Jennifer and Adam were amazed by the results they called us back in regard to getting the interior of their home done.
Tabitha called MDF to pressure wash and paint the deck on her Branford, CT home. Carpentry was done to the deck to replace some boards that were rotted. Once the carpentry was done the deck was pressure washed and sanded to remove any loose or peeling paint. After it was well sanded and dusted off, we painted the deck with the Sherwin Williams paint in the shade of SW 7593 Rustic Red.
Patricia called MDF to pressure wash and paint the entire exterior of her home in North Haven, CT. She had been considering this project for about six months and decided now is the time to do it.
To begin the process all areas with power washed to prep them for painting. After the exterior was dry the crew was able to start sanding to remove any deteriorating paint. When the sanding was done, we applied a coat of Oil- Based Primer on all bare wood. And used the Shermax Primer caulk in all deteriorated areas where the trim meets the siding. For the trims we applied the full coverage coat of Benjamin Moore, Satin paint. The last step was to paint ht exterior of the home to match the preexisting color of the house.
Adam called MDF to stain their deck on their Waterbury, CT home.
The crew began by soft washing the balcony floor and plastic railing and spindles. Also, soft wash front porch siding and left side of the house siding. Then, they lightly sanded the deck floor to be able to apply a coat of solid stain. After Jamie, our consultant recommended the Sherwin Williams Superdeck they decided to go with the color 2501 Natural.
Joe wanted to have the exterior of his home painted, the last time he painted his home was 10 years ago. And after having seen one of our yard signs downtown near his house he decided to call MDF to professionally paint his home.
Crew leader, Keoni, and his crew got to work. They pressure washed all the exterior of the home. Then began the sanding process once the areas were dry.
