MDF's Power Washing Technique
This writer recently sat down with one of the MDF pressure washing Crew Leaders and talked technique. MDF's proprietary method is a mix of power washing and soft washing. Our Technicians use the pressure washer on a low PSI (Pounds Per Square Inch) setting to soak the area first. Using the lower setting eliminates any risk of damaging the siding. From there, the surface is treated with an eco-friendly cleaner with a small amount of diluted bleach to disinfect and kill mildew. This cleaning mix is thoroughly washed off, and then the home is re-treated again with the same solution. This double process staves off mildew regrowth, so your home stays cleaner for longer. Any plants around your home are thoroughly soaked and washed off twice to prevent any damage.
When this soft washing process is applied to your roof, we add in a proprietary roof cleaner to the cleaning mix. Our blend sits on the roof and dries. The activated chemicals then eat away at the moss and lichens for 3-6 months until it's gone. The results are a more beautiful and healthier home. MDF offers free consultants for all our services, including power washing and sanitizing jobs. If you have any additional questions, you can ask them during your consultation! Our Paint Care Consultants are happy to help!
