Lowe's Gives During Covid-19
MDF's affiliate Lowe's has been a helping hand to those affected by Covid-19 since the outbreak began in March. They donated $25 million to support healthcare workers, those affected, and Lowe's employees. They also donated $10 million worth of protective gear to hospitals in need. Funds were allocated to donate home products for those who cannot pay. Lowe's also donated money to small businesses in the trades, non-profits in their headquarters hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Red Cross. The total amount they have contributed to support their neighbors and communities is more than $250 million.
To protect their employees and the customers they service, Lowe's has been taking extra time to disinfect stores. They have increased the pay of employees who are working during this crisis and supporting those who stay home due to illness. Their employees are creating food pantries in each store to ensure no one goes home starving after a shift. MDF supports Lowe's and follows their example!
