Deck Staining in Stamford, CT
Challenge
Alan and his wife Margaret called MDF Painting after receiving a flyer in the mail. The deck was last stained a few years prior, and he liked the results of the Benjamin Moore products used. Since MDF is an affiliate of theirs, we had no problem matching the previously used products.
Solution
This project's scope included the deck, a built-in bench, the rails, a deck skirt, and the stairs. The couple also wanted to take the opportunity to soft wash their home and roof to remove mildew and moss growth. This process included letting the home soak in a germ-killing cleaning solution before using the pressure washer on a low setting to gently rinse off everything. This keeps growth from coming back as quickly as well. For the deck, painters prepped it by sanding after the wood dried. Benjamin Moore's Arborcoat deck stain was applied in Mission Brown to the deck floor and steps, while painters applied Benjamin Moore's Softgloss in White to the bench, rails, and deck skirt. Alan and Margaret loved the results of their project!
