Exterior Painting in Middlebury, CT
Challenge
David D. called MDF Painting to paint the exterior of his Middlebury home and detached garage. He wanted to change the colors to make them slightly darker.
Solution
Painters started this job with a pressure wash on all areas to be painted. They then prepped the exterior using feather sanding techniques and an orbital sander. Because the siding was made of wood planks, painters measured the moisture levels. Any readings above 13% mean the paint will crack and peel if applied. The wooden exterior also responds best to an oil-based slow-drying primer, and a rust inhibitor to all nail heads. Sherwin Williams Emerald Satin was painted on the trim and Sherwin Williams Emerald Flat to the siding. David also requested his gutters to be painted, which were visibly brighter afterward. He was thrilled with the results of the paint job, and MDF was excited to help!
